Amaada Joy
Amaada is a vital part of the Steveston community.  Her
classes and Satsangs are filled with wisdom and
light., creating sacred space and gathering places for
people looking to increase their vibration and deepen
their awareness.  

Having received her yoga instructor's certification with
Vancouver's Prana Yoga and Zen Center she founded
Ikeela Hatha Yoga Studio of Steveston which she
evolved into Ikeela Healing Arts.  

Amaada is also a Reiki master and writer.
Ashleigh
Ashleigh has been teaching yoga for several years
at Ikeela Hatha Yoga Studio.  She received her yoga
instructor's certification with Prana Yoga and Zen
Center and in 2004 became certified by Janice
Clarfield of Urban Yoga in teaching prenatal yoga.  
Currently she is working on the year long Meditation
and Yogic Studies program with Padma.

Ashleigh brings her vibrant, youthful energy to her
classes which are filled with dynamic flows that
blend energy and calm beautifully.  Ashleigh is also
a skilled bodyworker and healer.  
Denise has been practicing yoga for 17 years.  She
received her yoga instructors certification with the
Shambhava School of Yoga in Colorado and her
prenatal yoga instructor's certification from Janice
Clarfield of Urban Yoga.  Since then she has been
teaching at Ikeela Hatha Yoga Studio and Steveston
Village Yoga Studio

Denise's classes are caring and focus on working
with the body by creating conscious awareness
through asana practice, pranayama and meditation.
She is also an NCCP certified level 1 coach and a
bodyworker, specializing in Lomilomi Hawaiian
massage, hot stone massage and Reiki.

Instructor  Bios
Cami has been practicing yoga for ten years. She’s
trained in Classical Ashtanga and Hatha yoga and
has recently completed her teacher training at the
Salt Spring Center of Yoga. She has a background in
dance and movement and is passionate about
cultivating mind/body awareness.  

Focusing on mindfulness, breath and alignment her
classes are both balancing and grounding. Cami’s
intention is to create a safe environment for her
students to go within and discover inner strength,
stillness and peace.

Cami
Helen

Helen has been practicing yoga for about seven
years.  After leaving the corporate world in 2007 she
decided to follow her dream of becoming a yoga
teacher.  She has a 200 hour certification from Prana
Yoga Teacher College.  

She teaches Hatha Yoga as a flow from one posture
to the next with great emphasis on breathing.  It's
yoga taught with verbal guidance and support, and
gentle, non-forceful, hands-on correction if needed.
Helen encourages her students to experience a
practice with no judgment and no competition.  Her
words to live by, "Every day is a gift.  Breathe it in.

Megan

Megan began belly dancing at the age of 21 while
looking for a fun way to workout.  Not only did she find
a challenging workout, but also an artform she could
be passionate about.  Megan enjoys sharing her love
for belly dance with anyone willing to give it a try and
is very excited about joining the village yoga team.






Naeem

Naeem has been teaching yoga for over two years at
Ikeela Yoga and he received his foundational training
through Prana Yoga College in 2006.

Naeem teaches a style of yoga that embraces a
balance of challenge and softness, creating a class
that is both expansive and nurturing.  

He is also a Reiki Master and High School teacher
and weaves the ancient and practical wisdom
from these experiences into his classes.
